Founder and President

With over 20 years of experience in the banking and finance industry, primarily working with businesses, Monica Coburn saw a need and a gap that needed to be filled to assist businesses and the vision of Nevada Business Advisors became a reality.

Receiving numerous awards throughout her career, including awards from the U.S. Small Business Administration, a recipient of the Woman of Distinction Award by the National Association of Women Business Owners Southern Nevada and received an award from the Urban Chamber of Commerce for Women In Politics and Community Service. Monica has participated as a speaker and panelist speaking on access to capital, creating a business pitch and other topics for various business workshops and also serves as a mentor for the Emerging Leaders Program, administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Monica started her entrepreneurship training at the young age of 8 selling Christmas and holiday cards door to door in her neighborhood, and selling items in the neighborhood through her home based pop up shop. Her passion for business has grown through the years and at the age of 25 started her own side business, The Personal Shopper. It was through this business venture, a hard lesson was learned. From this experience, her passion and determination in helping businesses be educated became a priority.

Monica’s passion is helping businesses succeed and helping the youth in our community who need it most. Her community involvement includes her volunteer efforts with a number of charitable organizations including Project 150, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth and Three Square to name a few. She also serves as the 2023 Business Coach for the SBA T.H.R.I.V.E Program for the Las Vegas cohort, serves on the Board of Directors for several organizations including Nevada Business Opportunity Fund and Global Charity Foundation, serves on the advisory board for Enterprise Bank & Trust and an alternate member of the Business Development Advisory Council for Clark County. Previously, she served on the board of Directors for B.E. A S.H.E.R.O. Foundation and Dress for Success Southern Nevada, where she served as the founding chair for their annual signature event.
