Growing up in the islands, Monica always had an interest in business seeing small mom and pop businesses operate from the local grocery store to the chicken farm. At the age of 8, she started her first business selling holiday and Christmas cards door to door followed by starting her own pop-up shop in her grandmother’s house. In her early 20’s while still working a full time job, she started her side hustle providing personal shopping services and it was through that experience that becoming an entrepreneur full time would always be a thought. With over 20 years of experience in the banking and finance industry, primarily working with businesses, Monica Coburn saw a need to assist small businesses with customized solutions with concierge style services. After a successful corporate career, she resigned from her senior management position to launch Nevada Business Advisors in 2019.
Receiving numerous awards throughout her career from the U.S. Small Business Administration, the National Association of Women Business Owners Southern Nevada Chapter and from the Urban Chamber of Commerce for Women In Politics and Community Service, Monica received her first award as an entrepreneur in 2023 as the recipient of the Woman Owned Small Business of the Year for the State of Nevada by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Monica Coburn has participated as a speaker and panelist speaking on financing and capital, and other topics for various business workshops. She has also served as a mentor for the Emerging Leaders Program, administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration and currently serves as the Business Strategy Coach for the SBA T.H.R.I.V.E Program.
Monica’s passion is helping businesses succeed and helping the youth in our community who need it most. Her community involvement includes her volunteer efforts with a number of charitable organizations and serves on the Board of Directors for several organizations including the advisory board for Enterprise Bank & Trust, Women of Global Change and an alternate member for Clark County’s Business Development Advisory Council. Previously, she served on the board of Directors for B.E. A S.H.E.R.O. Foundation and Dress for Success Southern Nevada.
